On being a good investor, on doing business

I think I better post this when things are rather smooth and going my way for me.

Tough times, really don't last but tough people do.

Have been involved in some investments lately and have been seriously learning the ropes to be a good investor.

One thing I failed to learn that is so crucial as abc in investment is

1. the cut loss strategy

When someone embarks on a venture or investment, the last thing that is on one's mind is to fail. Nobody likes to fail and pick up the pieces. Most would love to see things smooth sailing. But the wiser ones would think of contingency plans if this venture does not work out.

So, if we are involved in any investments at all, let us also give ourselves time to better equip ourselves and a strategy for cut loss. We would save ourselves alot of headaches in future.

2. Be better equipped.

Learn as much as we can from people as well as best selling books especially in the areas of their specialties, ask a friend who is good in the field to recommend a good book.

3. Practice

Don't just sit there and get worried, do something about it. Work on it, make friends with people who are in the same industry, trade or fields. Exchange ideas with them. For eg, an interior designer would have friends who are architects, those in the furniture and construction business. Hanging around birds of the same feather makes the flight alot much lighter and easier. Don't be a lone ranger, if you do, you may be happy making all your dollars but it is only one-sided happiness. Happiness is contagious, really, the more you share, the more those around get, and the more you receive too. Find me a generous person, and I can find you someone who is happy.

4. Passion

Please do not do anything that you do not have a passion for. Many of us make this kind of mistake, especially in the name of making a living. This would be one of the most miserable kind of existence, go and ask the cat, you will know he can agree with it anytime. Someone once said, when you find a job that you love, you will never work a day in your life. Everyday is really a joy. Come what may, it would be just like water off the duck feathers. If life throws you a lemon, you would turn it to be a lemonade in no time. Face life, don't run away from it. Life is fun and loving, enjoy it to the fullest. Especially when you are in Christ.

4. Take Profits some times

It may sound silly, but it is in bad tough times that I decide to take profits. And wow what a huge profits over the years, many times can amount to ten times what we are doing in our regular businesses. Yes, take profits ... and have a nice holiday ... pamper yourselves a little. Afterall, life is not just work and no play.

Didn't He say that He has come to bring abundant life? If this kind of abundant life is found only in heaven then He can keep it, I don't want it. I need it in the here and now. Heaven as we all know, is the ultimate of the ultimate, the best of the best, the purest of the purest form of life we can ever imagine to have. We would definitely be able to enjoy it when we get there. But I want the heavenly kind of life in the here and now.

If we look around us right now and we are still not happy and cannot put a smile on our face, we better do something about it.

Pray and ask the Lord to show you the light.

I ask the Lord for everything, for customers, for huge increase in my investment values, for good, honest and generous partners in my ventures, supportive and understanding family members and loved ones, having a good time in church and having a bunch of friends whom we can hang out with anytime we want, etc.

The Lord of heaven and earth already said, "Ask and it shall be given unto you."

Don't ask for small things, child of the Most High.
