Are you keeping quiet?

The story that I heard sometime back came into my mind recently.

It was about two prominent leaders who went on a fishing trip one day.

Both leaders let down their lines in their own territory side of the boat.

At the end of the fishing session, one leader caught some fish but the other did not.

The one who caught some fish happened to be the leader of a group of people who speaks up about their situations in their organisation.

The other who caught nothing happened to a leader of a group of people who do not speak up whatever they are going through. The fishes, like the people, do not open their mouths and hence they are not caught.

Just for laugh.

The devil is very happy when God's children keep quiet to God about their struggles, try to put up a front and they do their best not to worry. Instead they vent their frustrations on their loved ones, short-temperedness, impatience, rudeness, etc.

The way not to worry is to go to God in prayer about our worries, never mind if we are long-winded, until we receive the release in our spirit that we have fully handed the matter over to the Lord.

And we will find that breakthrough is indeed within a matter of days.

Philippians 4
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Godliness with Contentment

1Timothy 6
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Colossians 3
2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

When the glory of Christ descends upon our lives, all bondage of our lives cease to be, there bondage of sins, debts, sicknesses, unclean habits, lack, sorrows, despair, hopelessness, etc will all have to go in the presence of the glory of the Almighty.

And we, His redeemed children, have direct access to His glory in Christ Jesus.

I like this version of Colossians 3:11 (Living Bible Edition)
In this new life one's nationality or race or education or social position is unimportant; such things remain nothing. Whether a person has Christ is what matters, and he is equally available to all.

John 15
5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Focus on Christ not Self

Heb12: 2a Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith ...

Focusing on Christ, not self, will help us overcome our shyness, our inferiority complex, our pride and our ego.

And would help us do the extraordinary, like Peter, walking on the water, like Paul and the early disciples, healing the multitudes, etc.

Many of Jesus' disciples today are doing exactly like the Master, healing and restoring the multitudes.

All it takes is for these people to look away from themselves and their weaknesses and looking unto Jesus the Saviour of the world.

It is the Lord's pleasure to take / use the simple / foolish things of the world to confound the wise, that man should not glory except in the glory of the Lord God Almighty.

Matt 14:3a
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus...

Do whatever He tells you to do

John 2:
5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

This is Mary, the same woman, whom the angel Gabriel appeared to some thirty years ago with the Good News.

Luke 1:
37For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

So whatsoever the Lord revealed to us about our lives, to prosper us and not to tear us down, to give us a hope and a future, let us say "Amen" to Him.

Amen - be it unto me according to thy word.
